Let’s get something straight: this is your yoga practice.
Not mine. Not your neighbor’s. Not the person next to you in crow pose balancing like a flamingo in Cirque du Soleil.
You don’t have to do every pose. You don’t have to follow every cue. And guess what? You can absolutely skip Chaturanga. The yoga police will not come for you.
Wait, I Can What?
That’s right. You can rest in Child’s Pose instead of flowing. You can lower your knees in plank. You can modify, skip, pause, fumble, breathe, be human. Because yoga isn’t a performance—it’s a practice of tuning in.
If something doesn’t feel good, or you're just not feelin’ it that day, you are allowed to honor that. You’re encouraged to honor that.
Rebel Yogi Tip #1: Ditch the Ego at the Door
You’re not less of a yogi because you skipped a vinyasa. You’re actually doing the deeper work—listening to your body, not your pride.
Rebel Yogi Tip #2: Rest is Still Yoga
Child’s Pose is a sacred shape. Lying on your back? That counts too. Sometimes stillness is the most advanced pose in the room.
Rebel Yogi Tip #3: Your Practice, Your Rules
Want to move slower? Faster? Add a little shimmy in your downward dog? Go for it. Yoga isn't about compliance. It's about connection.
What Happens When You Stop “Doing it Right”?
You start doing it real. And that’s where the transformation happens—not in perfect poses, but in moments of truth, honesty, and alignment with your actual needs.
So yes, you can skip Chaturanga. You can break the rules. You can rebel with love.
Because the best yogi in the room isn’t the most flexible, or strongest, or sweat-drenched—it’s the one who’s paying attention.
Namaste
